Hiring Process

When you apply to a position, your profile and answers to any job questions are measured against the job requirements. As our recruiters match candidates for current opportunities, you may be contacted to schedule a qualifying telephone interview.

In some cases, you may not hear from us right away, which may indicate that at this time we don’t have an opportunity that matches your skills. Please continue to apply to positions that interest you and keep your profile up to date. We are always looking for new talent.

“We want your experience with our recruiters to be a good one. Our recruiters typically reach out to job candidates via the email, LinkedIn InMail, or phone number you have provided to us in your application.

It’s always good to be cautious when you are contacted by anyone claiming to represent a company, including ours. If you want to confirm that a recruiting contact you have received is, in fact, from our firm, please contact us on www.Facebook.com/FidelityJobs or via Twitter @FidelityJobs for a prompt response.

Here are some other ways that you can determine whether a job recruitment contact you receive is from our firm:

We will communicate with you individually. We would not send an email to a group of job candidates.
We would never ask you to pay us money nor would we ask you to purchase anything to enable you to work.
We would only request confidential information after making an offer of employment.
While we do conduct some interviews on video platforms, such as HireVue, we do not conduct interviews on instant message platforms, such as Yahoo! Messenger, WhatsApp, Google Talk, Google Hangouts, etc.
We would not ask you to create a social media profile of any kind.”

Fidelity Investments will not accept resumes/candidates submitted by talent acquisition agencies that do not have an active agreement in place with the firm. Resumes referred from outside Fidelity Investments Talent Acquisition and without an active agreement will be considered unsolicited and Fidelity will not be obligated to pay a referral fee.
“Come prepared to market yourself,” says one Fidelity recruiter. “Instead of just listing your strengths, describe what you have accomplished as a result of those strengths. Cite specific examples.”

Most interviews at Fidelity are behavior-based. This means our recruiters and hiring managers will ask about specific professional situations you’ve been in and your accomplishments. For example, if you mention that you’re efficient, you’ll be asked to provide examples from your work history that illustrate this.

-Familiarize yourself with the content of your resume
-Review the job description to determine how your background applies
-Be prepared to cite examples of your key professional accomplishments or related academic work
-Read some basic information about Fidelity’s culture, history, companies, etc.
-View a video about innovations at Fidelity called Fidelity Firsts
-Ask your recruiter for more information about the business unit you’ll be interviewing with
-Prepare a list of job-related questions that you can bring to the interview
While it varies, most people have at least two rounds of face-to-face interviews–the first with recruiting and hiring managers, the second with the team. Most posted positions are available immediately, but the hiring process can vary greatly in length and depends on several factors, including the skills needed and the number of qualified candidates.
We will provide candid feedback following in-person interviews, whether you are selected for the job or not.
Yes. Our positions are updated daily. Ensure that your profile is updated because Fidelity recruiters search and review candidate profiles daily.
All jobs have a broad salary range that accommodates those employees who are becoming proficient at their positions and those who are already quite skilled. Your starting salary will depend upon your experience and perceived proficiency at your job. Fidelity reviews its salary structure regularly to ensure we remain competitive with market conditions.

Summer Internship Program

Yes, Fidelity’s internships and co-ops are paid positions.

Internships are paid seasonal positions that are full-time for the summer months, typically June-August. A co-op is a paid full-time position for a defined period (usually four or six months). Students typically earn course credit for co-ops.

As a Fidelity intern (aka FIDTERN), you will work on real-time business projects while learning and developing professionally. You’ll have the opportunity to participate in comprehensive intern events, networking sessions, and a robust learning curriculum that offers meaningful program experiences. Our interns are a vital source of talent, and we welcome our FIDTERNS to launch their careers at Fidelity!

Interns are assigned actual real-time projects that offer a realistic sense of the work involved in a particular area or position. Interns work with full-time associates, often in a team setting.

We offer internship opportunities in nearly every region; however, opportunities are based on business needs and change according to location and timeframe.

The majority of internships occur in the summer, beginning in May or June.  By signing up for our Talent Network, you will be alerted when the intern application window opens.

The Summer 2024 Internship application window is now closed, but please join the Talent Network to be notified of upcoming early career opportunities and Summer 2025 internships.
