Fidelity’s Pride Employee Resource Group (ERG) is excited to announce the Out & Proud podcast is now available outside of Fidelity! Out & Proud highlights both LGBTQ+ associate experiences and acts of allyship.
The podcast spotlights changemakers at every level of the Fidelity Enterprise and in every segment of the LGBTQ+ community. It highlights many varied intersections, celebrating themes of selfhood, families and chosen families, and inclusive advocacy.
“This podcast started as a way for us to connect together and share our stories personally, professionally, and anywhere those worlds overlap,” says host and #FidelityAssociate Joe Shaw. “Releasing to an external audience allows us to directly connect Fidelity’s inclusion to our customers. Stories are not only representations of us, but they are also vehicles for fostering empathy, awareness and education. Stories have the power to spark change and shift listening into action.”
In 2019, Joe began recording very personal, candid stories showcasing what it’s like to work in an inclusive environment, the struggles of coming out, and everything in between. Each Out & Proud episode has furthered Pride’s mission of providing a safe place for all employees to bring their authentic selves to work by raising awareness and giving visibility to everyone in our community.
“This podcast and our stories are doing more than just saying ‘I can be gay/queer/trans and work at Fidelity.’ We are emphasizing that Fidelity cares about you and everything that fully makes you who you are. Your authenticity is why our workplace is the best environment for both our talent and our customers,” says Fidelity Pride Co-Chair Cate Ashley.
