When Brianna pursued an undergraduate education at the University of New Hampshire and a graduate’s degree from Bryant University, she was following a purpose instead of a specific field of profession. “I had no idea what I wanted to do with my life but knew wherever I ended up would be of service to others in some capacity.” Over the course of her early working years, she has operated, dabbled, learned, and considered many different industries and professions before finding one that seemed to fit. Now? She’s a Product Owner within Fidelity’s innovative and very enigmatic world of Digital Assets supporting cryptocurrency.
While in college, Brianna interned for a software development company as an Application Developer which shaped her love for technology and eventually led her to Fidelity in 2018. She started off in a call center role assisting customers with technical issues and began taking on administrative work, between calls, analyzing and improving technical processes for financial advisors and brokerage firms. Brianna’s impact spoke for itself when she was presented an offer to join the administrative team full-time. She accepted.
For months, Brianna was constantly learning, trying new techniques with projects, and implementing process improvements, all while having the ability to help people, but as time went on, she needed more. Around Fidelity, you will often hear the words mobility and career vitality. To you, these may just be words, to this organization it describes the culture, the endless opportunities, and the motivation one gets when they join a company they not only see themselves working within, but growing within.
When the opportunity arose to work within Fidelity Digital Assets, the crypto affiliate at Fidelity, Brianna found her transferable knowledge aligned to what was required for core characteristics and skills needed. And, while she hadn’t worked on crypto before, she was excited to learn and grow through this new challenge. Brianna has now been with Fidelity Digital Assets for over a year working as an Associate Product Owner. She says the difficult work and daily challenges are worth it when you realize the potential it has to help on a global scale.
“Working in crypto on the Product Delivery team is the very last place I expected myself to end up. I think my story just proves that you never really know where you’ll end up in your career but knowing your purpose – like mine to help people – can guide you.”
