For the 7th year, Fidelity was a proud sponsor of the Grace Hopper Celebration—the tech industry’s most forward-thinking event. This year was unlike any other as it was a call to action with the theme, “The Way Forward”. It encapsulated the aspirations of a tech industry in a transition, a commitment to breaking down barriers, and a vision of a future where every technologist, regardless of gender, could thrive and excel. This year’s theme was a powerful testament to the event’s enduring mission—to inspire change makers and empower technologists to become leaders who pave the way for progress and innovation in the tech industry. Throughout the event, this theme reverberated in every conversation, presentation, and interaction. It was a reminder that technological advancement cannot be achieved without embracing diversity, equity, and inclusion as fundamental principles.
The Grace Hopper Celebration, whether experienced in-person or virtually, presented an impressive lineup featuring more than 400 speakers and an extensive selection of more than 350 sessions. Attendees had access to a wide-ranging menu of events, including inspiring keynotes, interactive breakout sessions, skill-enhancing workshops, informative presentations, and thought-provoking panel discussions. These events covered topics that spanned emerging technologies, leadership skills, industry trends, and best practices.
What set this celebration apart was its deliberate and thoughtful approach. It provided a platform where professionals from diverse backgrounds converged, fostering an inclusive space for attendees to gain fresh perspectives and engage in candid, transformative conversations. The event was carefully crafted as a sphere for learning, growth, and the exchange of ideas, making each facet of the experience an invaluable opportunity for all.
As Fidelity stepped into the vibrant atmosphere of the Grace Hopper Celebration, our mission was clear: to inspire and to be inspired. With more than 80 enthusiastic Fidelity attendees, from varying levels and business groups, we embarked on a journey that would fuel our collective passion for technology. Our associates immersed themselves into the event, eagerly participating in sessions and seizing opportunities to connect with fellow tech enthusiasts. The Grace Hopper Celebration not only provided a space for them to meet other Fidelity technologists, but also to meet diverse technologists from across the country.
Moreover, our presence extended to the career fair expo, where the Fidelity team met with attendees from aspiring college students to experienced tech professionals. Our booth featured an “I’m inspired by…” affirmation wall, which was illuminated in attendees’ sources of inspiration for all to see. Marked in different colors, styles, and sizes—the wall quickly became a vibrant canvas highlighting the diverse factors that drive technologists. In addition to this captivating wall, we introduced a video display featuring some of our technologists who, though unable to join in person, enthusiastically contributed to the celebration by sharing their personal inspirations. But our engagement didn’t stop at expressions of inspiration. Our booth also hosted an engaging photo activation station bearing the phrase, “What tech makes you tick?” Attendees eagerly seized the opportunity to don technology-themed props for photos celebrating their favorite tech. We were inspired to encapsulate the spirit of the Grace Hopper Celebration and share the experience with all those who engaged with us!
