Being a Fidelity associate, I was able to attend my first Bryant University Annual Women’s Summit, which included content and programs appropriate for students, early career, mid-career professionals and those at senior and executive levels. This opportunity through Fidelity was incredible for me. The theme of the 2021 Bryant Women’s Summit was Resilience and Growth. Resilience and Growth have both been vital for individuals and organizations to survive in these challenging times and furthermore, necessary for future success.

I had the privilege to listen to leaders from several organizations including Fidelity’s own Head of Global Diversity and Inclusion, Wendy John. Wendy shared the value in having the courage to fail and learning a lesson from failures, during a session entitled “Turn your Setback into Success.” Another keynote speaker, Kenneth Carter III (President of Ameriton Freight & Logistics), shared a mantra of “Own it and Divorce it.” Kenneth shared a powerful personal lesson, self-reflection, and sharing his wisdom of a growth mindset.

Reflecting on the Bryant Women’s Summit, this experience has inspired and empowered me have the confidence and tools to take on the next challenge in my career. The summit reinforced the creditability to learn from other leaders who have embraced growth, robust networking and meaningful interactions.
